Beacon of Hope Uganda designs and conducts programs which contribute to the welfare and social productivity of disadvantaged individuals and communities with an emphasis on children and youth. We address some of the most pervasive problems in rural Uganda, including HIV/AIDS, malaria, hunger, education, poverty, access to clean drinking water, and orphaned children. In addition, we focus on empowering the youth of Uganda through leadership and skills training.  BoHU is founded on the principles that our common humanity is more important than our individual differences. We therefore operate on a non-political, non-denominational, and non-sectarian basis, welcoming each and every Ugandan in need.

BoHU reaches out for the furthest and abandoned communities in rural areas of Uganda including the Islands. By educating the residents of the Mukono district on diseases awareness & prevention, and fostering the creation of self sustaining projects run by the local community, BoHU aims to achieve this vision.

A number of short term and long term goals have been established and now we are in position to attract to volunteers for short-term (7 days to 2 months) and long-term volunteers (3months-6months).

Mission: Helping people to help themselves out of poverty and create independence not dependency amongst our beneficiaries through effective community education and the development of projects, creating a supportive self-sustaining community in a changing world.

Vision: Providing resources for quality development in under-resourced areas and to become a self-sustaining non-government organization in its efforts in Uganda.
